Our History

During the summer of 1991, twelve women decided that they wished to create a strong sisterhood.

After much dedication and assistance from the office of Student Life, on January 15,
1992, Kappa Xi Sorority, Inc. was founded on the California State University, Hayward campus. The twelve women sought out to create the sisterhood of a lifetime. On May 6, 2021, Kappa Xi Sorority, Inc. became incorporated.

Mission

Mission of Kappa Xi Sorority, Inc.: The purpose of this organization is to promote sisterhood, leadership, and to build a strong inclusive community through philanthropy and education.

Our Sisterhood

A true sister is the greatest of all blessings. A sister is a person, with whom you may be sincere, and before her you may think aloud. She is not judgmental, and she stands behind your every idea. Sisterhood is a word the very sight of which in print makes the heart warm. It is compassionate, caring and trusting, and should not be thought as anything less. Sisterhood is love with understanding. To be a sister is the only way to have a sister, and a real sister is the one who walks in When the rest of the world walks out. The most a sister can do for her sister Is to be a friend. Sisterhood is a responsibility and never an opportunity, It is something that is worked at And never known perfectly. It can always use improvement. The only thing a sister can do is Be the best that she can be.
